JOHANNESBURG - The high court has ruled against the Gauteng Health Department over its failure to provide cancer treatment.

The court ruled that the department's inability to implement a plan to provide timeous radiation oncology services to cancer patients, is unlawful and unconstitutional.
A backlog list from March 2023 has revealed an alarming 2,400 cancer patients were awaiting treatment, some for over three years.
