Budget speech 2024 | Sin tax bubbles over as alcohol excise increases

JOHANNESBURG - Bad news for smokers and drinkers: Sin taxes have increased.

Excise duty on alcohol will increase by between 6.7 and 7.2 percent.

That's much higher than inflation and what the greater industry asked for.
