Five countries join BRICS bloc 1
JOHANNESBURG - At the 15th BRICS Summit last year, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced that six countries were invited to join the bloc. These countries were Argentina, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
Only five of these countries accepted this invitation.
Argentina President Javier Milei declined the invitation.
The expanded BRICS group officially comes into effect on Monday.
