All eyes on Scheffler, McIlroy at Pinehurst

JOHANNESBURG - The third major of the year, the US Open tees off at lunchtime, with Pinehurst No. 2 the battleground for the world's best golfers over the next four days.

Golf fans won't get to see 2021 champion Jon Rahm this year, as he's had to withdraw due to a foot injury.

There will still be the likes of Tiger Woods, Phil Mickleson and the top three players Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele and Rory McIlroy, who have been grouped together.

South Africa boasts a four-player contingent, including Dean Burmester, Casey Jarvis, Erik van Rooyen and Christiaan Bezuidenhout.

Joining us to preview the week is sports journalist Michael Vlismas.
