JOHANNESBURG - Mineral Resources is reporting a decline in the mining industry for January 2024.
This is partly driven by illegal mining activities, such as those at the Stilfontein mine.
Illegal mining costs the country over 70 billion rand annually.
This will be one of the main discussion points at the 2025 Mining Indaba under the theme 'Futureproofing African mining, today'.
To discuss this further, Partner in Dispute Resolution at Webber Wentzel specialising in Business and Human Rights, Pooja Dela-Cron spoke to eNCA.
