TSHWANE - Tshwane Community Safety MMC, Grandi Theunissen, says officials have evidence that proves Samwu members are involved in the violent protests in the metro.

He says if the Union wants to negotiate they have to get their members under control.
Samwu however have denied any involvement in the strike.
Several municipal owned vehicles have been torched, since the protest over salary hikes began almost two months ago.
Theunissen said, "SAMWU has to stop with this violence."
"We could easily get into a catastrophic situation where people are killed."
"We need SAPS to intervene, crime intelligence to get involved."
"If Samwu wants to talk to us they should get their members under control. It is beyond the strike at this stage. Samwu actually claims they are not involved in the strike."
