Zuma's arms deal case returns to court

JOHANNESBURG - Former president Jacob Zuma's arms deal corruption case is returning to the Pietermaritzburg High Court this morning for a pre-trial hearing.

Zuma faces 18 charges of corruption, racketeering, fraud and tax evasion, linked to his alleged corrupt relationship with former financial advisor, Schabir Shaik.

The trial has been delayed several times due to Zuma’s appeals and efforts to force the removal of prosecutor Billy Downer from the matter.
