CAPE TOWN - The Western Cape taxi industry is facing increasing violence, prompting leaders to escalate their efforts for reform and safety.
The South African National Taxi Council in the province has reached out to the government for support in regulating the industry more effectively.
This initiative follows a recent incident at Nyanga Taxi Rank, where a shootout between private security guards left one person dead, and seven others injured.
