SOMERSET WEST - A police constable from Somerset West has appeared in court on charges of murder, illegal possession of ammunition and assault.

An incident involving the officer allegedly took place on Tuesday at a petrol station.
Police officers stopped and searched four people who were there to buy electricity.
The officers then instructed them to go home but the group reiterated that they need to purchase electricity.
The constable allegedly fired a shot at one of the four people, fatally wounding them.
He will be back in court on 3 January for a formal bail application.
