Water and electricity supply affected by Eastern Cape weather

NELSON MANDELA BAY - Nelson Mandela Bay Mayor Gary van Niekerk has promised that electricity outages and waterlogged roads, will be sorted out by the end of the day.

Torrential rains in the province Eastern Cape led to the evacuation of residents in Gqeberha.

Van Niekerk said, "yes, we are on top of things, our teams had to evacuate people, we had struggle with getting water from the eastern side of the metro to the western suburbs."

"Our engineers are working should be sorted by the end of today [Wednesday], hopefully."

"Thank you for the residents for their patience and for bearing with us."
