With alleged 28s gang leader Ralph Stanfield, his wife Nicole Johnson, and former Cape Town Human Settlements MMC Malusi Booi, among the accused, seasoned lawyers say this poses a security risk.
It’s the state’s case that the accused actively participated in the gang's activities and this is the reason why they joined these charges.
This case will end up in the Western Cape High Court, where several high-profile underworld cases are underway.
