WATCH | SAMATU calls for employment of qualified doctors

JOHANNESBURG - The unemployment of qualified medical doctors in South Africa is a growing problem.

The Health Department is planning to meet with its provincial counterparts to try and resolve the issue.

SAMATU reports that over 800 qualified doctors remain unemployed following the completion of their medical internship and community service.

Another concern is that of payment, Gauteng medical interns are now collecting their first paycheck after two months of non-payment.
