CAPE TOWN - The Independent Police Investigative Directorate is probing an incident that resulted in the death of an alleged gang member during a raid by the Western Cape Anti-Gang Unit on Saturday.
According to police, Alfonso Vosloo complained of chest pains and fainted, immediately after which EMS members confirmed him dead.
However, several Kalksteenfontein residents blamed the police for his death.
They set fire to the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the Cape Crime Crisis Coalition has expressed disappointment at communities that shield criminals at the expense of public safety.
