JOHANNESBURG - The release of convicted murderer Oscar Pistorius is going ahead.
The Correctional Services Department has confirmed that he will be released on parole on Friday.
It says Pistorius will be monitored until the expiry date of his sentence in 2029.
General parole conditions will apply.
These include that he will be expected to be home at particular hours of the day, he may not consume alcohol or prohibited substances, and is barred from giving media interviews.
The former Paralympian was convicted for killing his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day almost 11 years ago.
