CAPE TOWN - Excessive meetings costing almost R1m in just six months have resulted in the sacking of the SA Tourism Board Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson.
Tourism minister Patricia De Lille says the board held over 54 meetings from March to September, using R900,000 of the R1.4m budget.

This raised concerns, and the minister requested an explanation from Chairperson Makhosazana Khanyile and Deputy Chairperson Advocate Lizelle Dominique Jordaan.
