CAPE TOWN - A Western Cape couple, aged 46 and 38, were arrested on charges of rape and trafficking in persons.
The arrest was affected by a multi-disciplinary team from the Western Cape Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, SAPS K9 Unit, Melkbosstrand SAPS, Department of Social Development and Department of Health.
Various role players, including other government departments and non-governmental organisations were involved in investigating this matter.
According to a Hawks statement, the couple’s two young children were removed and placed in the care of social workers from the Social Development Department and will be taken for medical examinations.
