WATCH | Gauteng govt to pay R20bn towards E-toll debt

JOHANNESBURG - The Gauteng government will fork out R20bn to Sanral for the E-toll debt.

Provincial Finance and Economic Development MEC Lebogang Maile says the first instalment of R3bn will be paid on Monday.

The e-tolling system was officially scrapped earlier this year.

At the same time, according to Maile, Gauteng could be bankrupt by June next year if the government isn't careful with its finances.
