JOHANNESBURG - According to Electricity and Energy Minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, despite the fact that the grid is performing at above 60% South Africa is still just a few breakdowns away from power cuts.

Ramokgopa stated at the most recent energy briefing on Monday that it will require further investment and new generation capacity to keep the lights on next year.
