PRETORIA - E-hailing commuters in Gauteng have been left stranded.
This as Uber and Bolt drivers are hitting the brakes on operations in protest over delays in issuing permits.
They accuse Tshwane Metro Police of unfairly impounding vehicles despite the delays.
They have ditched their cars and shut down apps as they march to the Union Buildings.

Speaking to eNCA, Tshwane e-hailing association Tiego Motau said this is not the first time they have protested but their grievances has landed on deaf ears.
"Our drivers are suffering everyday. They get impounded for nothing. We all comply with the rules of e-hailing services like having road-worthy vehicles," he said.
Also present at the protest was Build One South Africa (Bosa) member of the Gauteng provincial legislature Ayanda Allie.
She said drivers can not be punished for the 'incompetence' of the state.
Tshwane Transport MMC acknowledged that this was not the first time the attention of permits have been brought to them but have made efforts to attend to them.
She noted with concern the new applications received by the province which have not been attended to due to a backlog.
