LIMPOPO - A Limpopo police officer arrested this morning on murder and insurance fraud charges,
is due to appear in court on Friday.
The 43-year-old went on a killing spree in order to benefit from her insured victims, to the tune of R10 million.
SAPS spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said, "She is being accused of orchestrating the killing of six people the evidence at hand is that she insured all these six victims through your funeral polices, accidental life covers as well as life polices with various banks with various insurance companies."
"So we received this particular case a few months back we roped in Cpt Mabunda as you can see he is processing this particular suspect, she is a suspect now. He is processing her where she will be then formally charged her finger prints will be taken."
"So he has gathered all the evidence analysed it and then we roped in the insurance companies obviously we got information from them we obtained a warrant of arrest as you can see she is in Polokwane she is in the holding cells right now."
"She has been arrested in connection to the six murders as well as 17 counts of fraud.”
The officer is expected to appear in the Polokwane Magistrate's Court.
