CAPE TOWN - Police are destroying a ton of drugs worth R90-million.
They were confiscated during day-to-day operations in the Western, Northern and Eastern Capes.
Some of the drugs being destroyed consists of tik, cocaine and mandrax.
National police commissioner Fannie Masemola said most of the drugs were confiscated at roadblocks.
"As we confiscate them, they go to local police stations. From there it is transferred to our forensic science laboratories.
"They get tested and if it's confirmed it's drugs then it gets stored there until the day of destruction."
