JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng remains South Africa’s crime hotspot.
The country's economic hub, as well as KwaZulu-Natal, has the highest number of murders, accounting for almost half of all killings.
Still, the latest crime data reveals a downward trend in several major categories.
These include a 9.8 percent decrease in murder, a 3.3 percent reduction in rape, and a 3.2 percent drop in attempted sexual offences.
