JOHANNESBURG - Former Treasury DG, Dondo Mogajane has denied ever pocketing money from the now defunct VBS bank.
In a statement, former bank chairperson Tshifhiwa Matodzi implicated Mogajane, saying he pocketed a R1m bribe.
This was to keep municipal investments in VBS against the provisions of the Municipal Finance Management Act, which states that municipalities cannot invest in mutual banks.
Mogajane has dismissed these allegations as baseless.
Meanwhile, the National Prosecuting Authority says it will investigate the leaking of the affidavit in the VBS case.
The NPA is considering legal options in this regard, saying this has the potential to undermine the administration of justice.
