JOHANNESBURG - Speaker of Parliament Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula is set to launch an application to interdict and restrain police from arresting her.
She's accused of accepting bribes worth millions from a military contractor while she was serving as Defence and Military Veterans Minister.
The Hawks raided her home this week and she also took leave from the ANC.
Mapisa-Nqakula says she's informed the President and the Secretary of Parliament of her decision in a bid to protect the integrity of Parliament.
The Speaker has cancelled her planned trip to Switzerland for the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly.
On Friday, it was initially reported that she had handed herself over to police.
At the same time Accountability Now Director Paul Hofffman says in the interest of protecting Parliament, Mapisa-Nqakula should resign.
