UPDATE: 8 suspected robbers shot dead in Khayelitsha

CAPE TOWN - Police have confirmed a deadly shootout between a gang of suspected robbers and a multi-disciplinary team assisted by private security in Khayelitsha.

Eight of the suspects have been killed and 13 firearms recovered.

The group was allegedly planning to commit a cash-in-transit heist.
