DURBAN - The Govender brothers, Dylan and Ned, have been sentenced to seven years in jail after being found guilty of assault and attempted murder related to the 2021 July unrest.
The High Court in Durban handed down the sentence.

The brothers were also accused of murdering 19-year-old Mbuso Majola in Phoenix during racial clashes linked to the unrest.
For this, they were not found guilty.
During their last appearance in court, Judge Gregory Kruger postponed the matter to Friday, to allow him to study four reports, including from a social worker and the probation officer.
