STILFONTEIN - Two bodies of illegal miners recovered underground at the Stilfontein mine shaft have been identified.
Police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe who said that the families of the deceased have come forward.
Rescue operations continued on Wednesday for the third day in Stilfontein.
A total of 132 illegal miners have been brought up to the surface, with 60 bodies retrieved.

Muridile says the identification of most of the bodies which have been retrieved is a challenge as these illegal miners are undocumented but also some bodies are decomposed.
