JOHANNESBURG - The City of Tshwane has dismissed 55 more workers for taking part in an illegal strike over salary increases.
This brings the total to 93 axed employees.
The City issued dismissal letters to workers from the South African Municipal Workers Union.
They're unhappy about not getting wage increases and are demanding a 5.4% hike.
The strike is in its third week despite a Labour Court ruling declaring the strike action unlawful and unprotected.
The city says more workers face dismissal.
The strike has led to a backlog in service delivery in the city capital.
