Missonlands factory fire
DURBAN - Three people have been burnt beyond recognition at a building gutted by fire in Missionlands, KwaZulu Natal.
The charred remains of three people were recovered on Saturday and one person is still unaccounted for.
It is understood the furniture manufacturing building caught fire late Friday night while nine Malawian nationals were working night shift.
All exits and entrances were allegedly locked by their employer at the start of their shift and this prevented the men from escaping the inferno.
Five employees jumped out of windows from the upper level of the building and escaped with minor injuries.
