JOHANNESBURG - It was a dark and stormy night in large parts of the country as spring thunderstorms rolled in.
Large parts of Gauteng were engulfed in storms, which, despite their ferocity, didn't bring much-needed rain.
The northwest of the country also bore the brunt of powerful winds, with reports of damage to Moruleng Mall.

There have also been reports of disturbances as far as Hartebeespoortdam.
In a bizarre scene in Centurion, heavy winds seem to have bounced a trampoline into the middle of the street.
Several power outages are also being reported.
