PRETORIA - Spaza shop owners have been handed a lifeline.
Government has agreed to extend the registration deadline to February next year.
This has been the response from authorities after the deaths of over 20 children from food-borne illnesses, blamed on eating snacks allegedly bought from spaza shops.
More than 800 cases of food poisoning were reported across the country.
