Soshanguve mass shooting suspect faces 13 extra charges

SOSHANGUVE, PRETORIA- A 27-year-old suspect now faces 13 extra charges related to the killing of six community patrollers in Soshanguve.

This follows his arrest last week for illegal firearm possession, ammunition and immigration violations.

The man made his second court appearance on Monday and was was formally charged with: Murder and Attempted murder.

The fatal shooting took place when local patrollers clashed with five unidentified men on the street at Marry Me informal settlement, North of Pretoria.

The suspect who is yet to be named was linked to the mass killing through an identity parade following his arrest.

He is expected back in court on Tuesday, where all 16 charges will be combined. He will appear alongside his co-accused, a 50-year-old nabbed for possession of an illegal firearm, and live ammunition.
