SIU promises better protection for whistleblowers
JOHANNESBURG - Whistleblower Babita Deokaran was murdered. Others have been forced out of jobs or even the country.
Now, the Special Investigating Unit is promising them better protection.
It says in future there will be swifter moves to get them placed under witness protection.
SIU Head, Andy Mothibi, was speaking after signing a MOU with Stellenbosch University. The institution is helping the unit find new ways to fight corruption.
