JOHANNESBURG - President Cyril Ramaphosa has authorised the Special Investigating Unit to conduct investigations into Home Affairs and PRASA.
The two proclamations give the SIU the go ahead to investigate claims of serious maladministration, and illegal or unlawful behaviour by state officials or workers.
The probes will also look to recover any financial losses incurred by the state.
The Home Affairs investigation will look into a wide range of issued permits.
These include permanent residence, citizenship, business, work and study visas, as well critical skills and retired person's visas.
