Education department did not approve school trip

JOHANNESBURG - Gauteng Education has released the outcomes of a probe into the deaths of two Daveyton schoolboys.

15-year-old Siphamandla Peterson and 17-year-old Sibusiso Sibiya drowned in the Hennops River while attending a discipline camp back in April.

The department says the principal's planning of the trip was poor as she did not obtain approval from the department ahead of the trip.

Sharing their recommendations, the department is calling for disciplinary action against the suspended school principal and only her.
