SA’s corruption emergency | Mpumalanga Community Safety loses R28m in four days

JOHANNESBURG - Mpumalanga Community Safety has lost R28-million to corruption and fraud.

In this case, it took fraudsters just four days to siphon the money from the licensing department.

Community Safety MEC Vusi Shongwe believes some employees were involved.

He's promised that the money will be recovered.

"It is a very big amount of money in only four days, we are shattered," he said.

"We are going to recover this R28-billion, come rain, com sunshine.

"Going forward we are going to make sure that these officials are handed over to the security agencies and they pay for their deeds."
