JOHANNESBURG - SARS Customs officials have seized cocaine valued at an estimated R25-million at OR Tambo Airport.
The cocaine was packed into 47 bricks, weighing around 50 kilograms.
It was discovered in a bag on a carousel for a flight from Sao Paolo in Brazil en route to Kinshasa.
There were no passengers accompanying the bag and no arrests have been made.
SARS Commissioner Edward Kieswetter says an inter-agency approach is being used to catch traffickers.
The matter has been handed over to the SAPS for further investigation.
