SARS collects over R1.8 Trillion for 2024/25 financial year

JOHANNESBURG - SARS has collected nearly R1.9 trillion in revenue for the 2024/25 financial year. And this is one of the taxman's best years.

The revenue service faced a number of challenges this past season including the hijacking of eFiling profiles and tax dodgers.

This led to the government allocating R7 billion over the next three years to modernise its systems.

SARS commissioner Edward Kieswetter previously said there are at least 30,000 individuals who have economic activity greater than R1-million who are not registered for tax.

Kieswetter says they are targeting over R2 trillion in collections over the next financial year.
