HARARE - Southern African heads of state have committed to bringing peace to Mozambique.
This as the extraordinary SADC meeting summit wrapped up in Harare on Wednesday night.
The extraordinary summit was called to discuss the war in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and elections held in the SADC region recently but Mozambique became a priority after being rocked by post-election violence that has left over 30 people dead.
SADC chairperson Emmerson Mnangagwa said the regional body has extended the DRC mission by another year.
That country has been plagued by instability and war in the east.
South Africa sent Deputy President Paul Mashatile to the summit and the majority of the 16 members sent representatives.
