Richards Bay community urged to stay indoors as wood factory blaze continue

RICHARDS BAY - uThungulu District Municipality Air Quality officials are advising Richards Bay residents to stay indoors until a fire in the area is extinguished.
Nozipho Khathi says their data has revealed that various particles are polluting the air.

The blaze broke out at a woodchip factory over the weekend and firefighters are still struggling to extinguish it.

It has been burning for over 3 days now and threatens a nearby chemical factory.
