JOHANNESBURG - Eskom is celebrating more than nine months without rolling blackouts.
This milestone was last reached in June 2018.
The power utility says the implementation of its recovery plan has been delivering sustained structural improvement in the generation fleet, since 2023.
The utility attributes 300 days of keeping the lights on to significant reduction in unplanned outages and improved energy availability factor.
It's also saved over R16-billion in diesel expenditure.
Eskom believes it's on a path to profitability and long-term operational and financial sustainability.
