JOHANNESBURG - City Power says it will exempt essential services and some businesses from rolling blackouts.
But that means blocks for their customers will now change.
Some of the new blocks have already been implemented.
Infrastructure such as bulk water treatment plants will no longer be impacted by power cuts.
This includes the Hursthill and Lenasia stations.
City Power says the changes have also been necessitated by a refurbishment plan for the network.
Key to the project is that it does not further impact the current power cut schedule.
