JOHANNESBURG - One of the country’s largest generating units is back in action after a nearly year-long breakdown and is set to get a new lease on life.
Unit 1 at Eskom’s Koeberg Power Station’s been brought back online.
Electricity minister Kgosientsho Ramokgopa, says it is planning to extend the unit’s life by at least two decades.
Ramokgopa gave his weekly update on the country’s electricity plan.
He says five other units are also expected to be brought back online by Sunday evening which in turn should mean fewer blackouts.
