STILFONTEIN, NORTH WEST - It's over a month since Stilfontein illegal mining Kingpin, James Neo Tshoeali, or Tiger escaped.

The Lesotho national resurfaced from shaft 11 on the 15th January, but then disappeared.  

Four police officers were arrested and will appear again before the Stilfontein Magistrate's court on Wednesday.

North West police say they continue to search for the man who slipped through their fingers during the rescue operation that lasted for days in Stilfontein.

Tshoaeli resurfaced from the shaft, but was never booked into any police station or admitted to hospital.

Those with him underground confirm he emerged with them, but deny he's a kingpin.
