Police ministry vows to make SA safe again

CAPE TOWN - The recent crime stats paint a grim picture for the whole country, but certain provinces are seeing an alarming spike in murders.

The Western Cape has seven out of the 10 precincts with the highest murder rate in the country.

There has been an increase of 76.5% in Phillipi but the Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu says strategies are in place to deal with this.

The South African Police Service appeared in parliament before the Portfolio Committee on Police.
