Operation Shanela | Police arrest almost 14,000 suspects

JOHANNESBURG - Police have arrested almost 14,000 suspects during Operation Shanela in the past week.

The suspects were arrested through crime intelligence tracing operations, and roadblocks.

Those arrested were wanted for murder, rape, possession of illegal firearms and business robberies.

Over 150 illegal guns and large amounts of US Dollars were also seized.

Police say they will continue with the operation to ensure safety and security.
