One suspect killed as police pounce on ATM bombing syndicate

LENASIA,JOHANNESBURG - A suspected ATM bomber was killed while two others were wounded during a shootout with police in Lenasia, South of Johannesburg.

Two more suspects have been arrested in the intelligence driven operation. Police have been on the hunt for the syndicate for quite some time. 

A shootout ensued after members of police approached the group as they were about to blow up an ATM.

Deputy National Police Commissioner, Shadrack Sibiya said the two wounded suspects were in hospital under police guard.

Sibiya says the group is believed to have ten members. He says they have arrested five including the one that died during the shootout. A search for the other five is underway.
