NUM calls for more investment in coal energy, not green energy

JOHANNESBURG - Mineworkers union, NUM says that green energy is not the solution.

The union says that the solution lies in the investment in more coal-fired power stations.

It is rejecting plans to add solar and wind power to the energy mix.

There has been outrage over the government's failure to end blackouts.

Just after President Cyril Ramaphosa's State of the nation address, the country was plunged into stage 6 power cuts.
