JOHANNESBURG - National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane says they have no evidence at this stage to link 'bogus' doctor, Matthew Lani, to any offence.
This after charges were dropped against Lani.
Mjonondwane says the docket has been returned to the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation for further investigations.
The infamous so-called doctor, Matthew Lani, was arrested Sunday night.
He was caught as he entered the Helen Joseph Hospital in Johannesburg wearing a stethoscope.
The Gauteng Health department says he tried to escape after he was apprehended by security personnel.

In a video circulating on social media, Lani is seen admitting to his actions and asking for forgiveness.
In past TikTok videos, Lani has been seen offering medical advice and products on TikTok, claiming to have a medical Degree from Wits.
The university denied this, and the Health Professions Council of South Africa saying Lani was not on its database.
