JOHANNESBURG - Parliament spokesperson, Moloto Mothapo says the National Assembly sitting will go ahead on Friday.
He says proceedings will be halted only by a court order.
This after the uMkhonto weSizwe Party filed court papers to stop the sitting, claiming that it's unconstitutional.
uMKhonto weSizwe Party says the IEC was premature in declaring the 2024 election results free and fair.
On Monday, Chief Justice Raymond Zondo declared the first sitting of the 7th Parliament will be on 14 June, while the first sitting of the National Council of Provinces will be on 15 June.
Proceedings are set to go ahead without the presence of the MK Party.
